It's a fabulously unbelievably beautiful day outside, kids. With that said, as if I haven't already taken enough days off, I'm going to sit today out in blogland and romp around outdoors! Enjoy your day!
Just ran into these babies onRue La La and didn't hesitate for a second before sharing! I have the great pleasure of introducing you to the Belle by Sigerson Morrison 'Nude Leather Loafer with (Silver) Cap Toe'. (Whew, say that five times fast...) It was love at first sight! I would say "for whatever reason", but let's be honest...I'm well aware of the reason! I've been in love with the menswear trend since it first came out a few years ago; I simply think it's absolute genius. A fabulous alternative to the oxford, a loafer like this one is another great way to dazzle up any 'ole outfit! Find them here.
I'm all about effortless style and have never really been one for "sweats"...but this baby could change all that. I envision this as quite possibly one of the most popular items in my wardrobe for rainy days, running to the grocery store and other errands I would rather show up to looking presentable rather than looking like I just got run over three times in my Nikes. Don't get me wrong, I love my Nikes and will forever and always resort to them for walks on the trail, tennis and the occasional visit to the carwash. This "sweatshirt" (though I don't even feel right calling it that in all its sequined glory!) is probably going to be my new go-to piece, though, for casual occasions without being too understated. Love love love.
Recently, I've taken on a fabulous little activity I like to call tennis and I am absolutely LOVING it. Though wishing I had stuck with lessons much longer than I ended up doing as a kid, I've found myself playing doubles with some dear friends every night this week at the club's courts and leaving every evening with a huge smile on my face and feeling great! In light of these recent active adventures, I decided it would be a lovely idea to post on one of tennis' leading ladies in fashion...
...Both on and off the court, Maria Sharapova demonstrates pure style in her ensembles of choosing. Whether attending the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund or backstage at Herve Leger, M represents in full fashion force!
In the past three weeks I've had wedding after work after pool time after more work...and barely any time to catch my breath in between! Three weeks prior, with everything I knew I had coming up, one of my dear friends suggested that we finally make an appointment and get the "three week manicure" we've both been meaning to try since Christmas. Upon arrival at [redacted] salon, we took our seats and began the tough task of choosing a color! Though more are available than what's shown above, I ended up choosing the color you see here at the front of the herd (though it's really a pink-orange in real life and thank you JESUS because I'm just not a neon, hunter orange kinda gal)! Two Groupons and about thirty minutes later our fingers were perfectly polished. Today marks exactly week three and my nails are looking as fabulous as ever- definitely worth another trip and a new color sometime in the near future!
One of the best duos sent straight from fashion h e a v e n, this floral and sequin pairing caught my eye in an instant. Besides the fact that the top is Haute Hippie, a brand that I would literally die for (LITERALLY), it's stunning combination of colors and hand-painted feel would leave any women breathless. The skirt, Haute Hippie as well, features gold, bronze, silver and slate tones and a great patchwork twist to the sequin mini. Could this ensemble thrust itself into my arms fast enough? Don't think so.
Okay, so the maxi dress/skirt trend isn't exactly breaking news...but ya'll! I bought my very first maxi skirt today! (I can hear your cheering in the background...) I must say, I haven't walked out of a store as excited as I was in quite a long time. As I tried it on in the dressing room, my mind was immediately flooded with all kinds of ideas I could put into action when styling this piece. It's fairly simple- a textured gray fabric for my first...I didn't want to go too crazy until I could be sure that a. I will truly love the trend and b. it is, in fact, going to last for a decent amount of time! I'm going to keep brainstorming some fab fab fab ideas of the things I can do with my new baby, but in the meantime here are my top three maxi skirt looks. (Shocker, OP made it on here twice)...
Look what just showed up on my doorstep! Thanks to sweet family, I was gifted this baby out of love/part of an early birthday gift! And it couldn't have come at a more perfect time: my de-cluttering state of mind. All my purses? Out the window. All clutches and small bags survived, but I was simply too overwhelmed with my supply of too-trendy bags that were bought in the moment and never really fulfilled their full potential. For now, I'll stick with this as my go-to carry-all and I couldn't be more excited!
I've heard them called "envelope clutches", "carry-alls" and even simply "pouches", but whatever the official name for these precious purse-alternatives they are definitely catching my eye. Sure, a clutch is a clutch, but these babies are packin'...literally. From my brief experience, I can say they offer substantial room for all of the goodies you've always wished you could fit into a clutch without it bursting open but have never successfully been able to, that is until now! Find them anywhere, namely Etsy, especially if you want one that is unique and a little less commercialized. Are you as on board with this trend as I am?
I love love love Resort season. More than ever, Resort collections seem like the green light for designers to let loose a little, sit back and design a stellar collection that's maybe a bit less...'by the book', if you will. Missoni's 2012 Resort collection that recently debuted on the runway is a textbook example of what I just described; fun, warm, inviting, slightly retro, eye-popping...just a few words that come to mind as I continually flip through the images of the collection. Talk about eye-candy!
I'm running out the door but I just couldn't head out before sharing these fabulous snapshots of the one and only OP walking for Coca Cola S/S (no, not the soda) 2012 runway in Rio! Throw a paper bag on the girl and push her down a runway and she'd sell a million of them. Fabulous ensembles, love international inspiration!
Is it just me, or did June come out of nowhere?! Not that I'm not happy to see such a fabulous month filled with warmer weather and fabulous styles ringing in the new summer season! Though the official start of summer isn't marked until June 21st (always on my Mother's birthday...literally the longest day of the year she tends to remind me), it sure feels like summer is back in full force where I am! By far, I would say the absolute hardest weather to not only want to dress fabulously in but actually succeed in doing so as well is the 100 degree, 100% humidity weather a Midwestern summer brings. Fun ideas to come soon on how to dress like a million bucks without feeling like a million degrees, but I'd love to hear any stylish ideas ya'll may have! Have a fabulous day and stay cool!
